What is Gochar in astrology?
Gochar (transit) describes where the planets are today. Traditionally it is read from the Moon sign (Chandra Lagna) and from the Lagna, and it modifies — but does not replace — the promise of your birth chart and Dasha.
Shani Sade Sati and Dhaiya
Sade Sati is the roughly seven-and-a-half-year period when Saturn transits the sign before, the sign of, and the sign after your natal Moon. Dhaiya (Kantaka Shani) refers to Saturn's transit of the 4th or 8th sign from the Moon. Both are discussed often, but their effects are read with the rest of the chart — not as automatic bad luck.
Why transits feel different for each person
Two people with the same Moon sign get the same daily Rashifal, but their Lagna, house lords and Dasha differ — which is why MoKundli reads Gochar on your own chart rather than as a generic horoscope.
Frequently asked questions
Is Gochar based on Moon sign or Lagna?
Both are used. Many traditional rules are read from the Moon sign; house-based effects are also read from the Lagna. MoKundli shows both.
Am I in Sade Sati?
You are in Sade Sati when Saturn transits the 12th, 1st or 2nd sign from your natal Moon sign. Create your Kundli to see your Moon sign and Saturn's current transit.

How often do transits change?
The Moon changes sign about every 2¼ days, the Sun monthly, Jupiter about once a year, Rahu–Ketu every 18 months and Saturn about every 2½ years.
